News - ALHS Baseball Team Prepares for Season, Helps NICU Families
Published on
Practice season is underway for the Avon Lake High School baseball team, and amidst the preparation for the upcoming year, players, coaches and families took time to think about those in the greater community, with the crafting of fleece blankets, for families in need of a little extra encouragement. In addition to groundballs and hitting practice, the ALHS baseball team made the time to give back their time and thoughtfulness to support families with premature infants and other critical illnesses at the Cleveland Clinic’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Blankets were hand crafted by players under the direction of the coaching staff and parents, showcasing vibrant colors, warmth, and soft fabrics, and a sense of care, all in the gesture of encouragement. Similar outreach efforts and actions of community service are anticipated in the future with the baseball team. Congratulations to the Avon Lake Baseball family, for creating a sense of care and compassion, and helping others who may be in need.
