Request for Qualifications: Construction Manager at Risk - District Capital Improvements Project
The Avon Lake City School District is seeking statements of qualifications from construction managers at risk for its $88 million dollar capital improvement program consisting of renovations to three elementary schools, new middle school construction, and abatement and demolition of two schools. The services performed will be those described in the OFCC cmr contracts for school district. Firms interested should request additional information from Joelle Magyar, Superintendent, through email, and should submit their statement by Noon on July 16, 2025.

Request for Proposals: Learwood Middle School Track Repair Project
Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Education of the Avon Lake City School District for the Learwood Middle School Track Repair Project. Questions may be directed to Marie Dowling, Behnke Landscape Architecture, with a copy to Dr. Ned Lauver, Director of Operations. Electronic copies of the Contract Documents may be viewed or purchased at SE Blueprints, Inc. located at 2035 Hamilton Ave., Cleveland, OH 44114, or at their website at www.plancycle.com.
Bids shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to Board of Education of the Avon Lake City School District, ATTN: Autumn Reed, Treasurer, 175 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, Ohio 44012, and plainly marked on the outside "Avon Lake CSD – Learwood Middle School Track Repair Project Bid." Bids will be received until 12:00 p.m., local time on June 11, 2025 and immediately after the deadline the bids will be opened and publicly read aloud.
A pre-bid conference will be held on June 3, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Learwood Middle School located at 340 Lear Road, Avon Lake, Ohio 44012.
All bids must include a Bid Guaranty, as described in the Instructions to Bidders. No bidder may withdraw its bid within 60 days after the opening; the Board reserves the right to waive irregularities, reject any or all bids, and conduct necessary investigations to determine bidder responsibility.
UPDATE (6/11/25): Vasco was the apparent lowest responsible bidder on this project. Their bid was approved at the June 17th, 2025 Regular Board meeting.
Request for Proposals: Summer Asphalt Maintenance and Repairs (2025)
Sealed bids will be received by the Avon Lake City School District for summer asphalt maintenance and repairs. The bids will be received at the Board of Education office at: 175 Avon Belden Rd., Avon Lake, OH 44012 until noon local time on May 30, 2025 and will be read publicly and recorded immediately thereafter. Late bids will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. Faxed and emailed bids are not permitted.
Bids shall be addressed to the Treasurer of the Avon Lake City School District in a sealed opaque envelope and be clearly marked on the envelope as a bid for the applicable improvements for which the bidder is submitting its bid along with the bidder's name.

A Pre-Bid Meeting for all Bidders was held at 10:30 a.m. local time on May 16th, 2025 at the Board of Education Office, 175 Avon Belden Rd., Avon Lake, Ohio 44012. This meeting was followed by a tour of the project sites.
Inquiries regarding the bidding documents, including requests for clarifications or interpretations or proposal of substitutions, shall be submitted by email to Dr. Ned W. Lauver.

Request for Proposals: School Photography Service (2025-2027)
The Avon Lake City School District Board of Education is soliciting proposals for photography services to be performed at various locations and functions of ALCS. Interested vendors may request the RFP packet from Dr. Ned Lauver, Director of Operations, or you may click here for the RFP document. By not later than 12:00 noon, April 7th, 2025, one electronic copy of the firm's proposal must be submitted by email. Please see the packet for details.
