News - Gallery Walk Highlights Ancient Roman Architecture

Published on

Seventh grade students in Mrs. Castrilla’s World Studies social studies classes at Learwood Middle School highlighted important structures from Ancient Rome during a Gallery Walk activity in the Media Center on Friday, December 19, 2025. The students proudly presented model representations of Ancient Roman architecture such as forts, bathhouses, aqueducts, theater, Roman villa, Colosseum, Pantheon, the Circus Maximus, a site famous for chariot-racing, gladiator contests, and other events, and the Roman Forum. Each model was made from common household materials with impressive attention to detail. In addition to creating models of their selected structure, student groups conducted research and presented a list of key facts related to their topic. During the activity, parents and fellow students were able to move around the Media Center to view and learn about each historic structure. Congratulations to all participating seventh grade students for demonstrating creativity and collaboration!
