Emerging student-chemists in our High School’s chemistry classes are learning what it takes to be financially successful scientists with the help of an Avon Lake chemical company, Vestolit. Along with a handful of our very own chemistry teachers, our students are learning how to function as chemical operators, technicians, and chemists. Visiting Vestolit for hands on project-based experiences, teachers are guiding our students through various chemical processes, but the real-life chemists have come into the classroom as well, to share their knowledge. Vestolit, located in Avon Lake, is one the world’s leading raw material suppliers of polyvinyl chloride, commonly known as PVC. Students learn how to mix chemicals, test physical properties, and more. Great job Avon Lake chemistry students and thank you to Vestolit, for your active and engaging partnership. Watch a video here!
