News - Redwood Elementary Spreads Kindness Throughout Community

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, the students and staff of Redwood Elementary, with the assistance of Avon Lake High School students, participated in the school’s fourth and final kindness mission of the year. Kindness Grows was a top-secret mission that involved the delivery of 550 plants to the neighborhood surrounding Redwood Elementary. Each student was tasked with coloring and writing a positive message to attach to a plant that was left secretly on the doorstep of a Redwood community member. The neighborhood residents greatly appreciated this collective act of generosity and care. A special thank you to The Yard Works Landscaping for the generous donation of plants and the Redwood PTA for donating other needed supplies! Finally, thank you to our Redwood staff, students, and ALHS student helpers for helping to spread kindness!
