Westview student participates in a literacy based game

Westview families had the opportunity to engage in reading in a fun and entertaining environment, while applying developmentally appropriate and research-based strategies at a Literacy Night event on Friday, December 6, 2024. A variety of games were offered, including Connect 4 in which students took turns reading words, a Fishing Game whereby students looked for words and recorded them on a sheet, Word Bingo, and an activity of building words with tile letters. Each student received a free book from the popular book vending machine, just for attending. A special thank you is extended to Julia Negray, one of the reading tutors at Westview Elementary, who has planned and executed this beloved event for the past three years. Thank you to all the families who showed their support by attending this enlightening literary event!
