News - Kindergarten Students Engage in Sensory Learning at Westview Elementary School
Published on
Kindergarteners at Westview Elementary connected valuable sensory experiences to student learning at an animated event during the week of October 28th. Stations were set up around the gymnasium and parent volunteers as well as staff provided the dynamic sensory materials and hands-on instruction. The goal of this activity was to help students practice using each of their senses in a playful way, which also translates to learning information that may be applied to real life skills. Stations featured unique objects and activities such as freshly popped popcorn, scented markers, spooky ghost crafts, and even a freeze dance to get everyone moving! Thank you to Westview staff for partnering with parent volunteers to plan this educationally rich experience and exciting activity for the Kindergarten students!
