Sociology (Semester Course)

Course Overview:

Sociology is a science that studies human society and social behavior. The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the content, terminology, methodology, and application of the discipline. Areas covered include types of societies, socialization and agents of socialization, deviance and social control, sex and gender, race and ethnicity, age and health issues, the family, and religion. This elective course examines modern day topics from the three sociological theoretical perspectives.
