1st Quarter- 

  • Rhythm:  Differentiate beat and rhythm

  • Melody:  Identify high and low

2nd Quarter- 

  • Rhythm:  Quarter notes and paired eighth notes

  • Melody:  Solfege syllables sol and mi

  • Partwork:  Ostinato

3rd Quarter- 

  • Rhythm: Quarter rest

  • Melody: Continue practicing sol and mi

  • Form: A (apple), B (banana), and C (cherry) sections

  • Dynamics:  Forte and piano

4th Quarter -  

  • Rhythm: Prepare half note

  • Melody: Solfege syllable la

  • Meter:  2 meter, including bar line, measure, double bar line, and repeat sign
