News - Learwood Athletes Excel at State Track Meet

Congratulations to the Learwood Middle School track team, who delivered an impressive series of performances at the OHSAA Seventh and Eighth Grade State Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Learwood had the proud distinction of having three student-athletes place in the Top 5 of their respective events in the state competition! Competing in the shot put and discus events, Julia Scarvelli won the silver medal in the shot put event, while Kaitlyn Warner secured a fantastic third place finish in the 400m dash. John Donahue earned a fourth-place finish in the 100m dash, including a personal record time of 11.47. In addition to their outstanding state track meet performances, all three student athletes were the top finishers in the Southwest Conference for their respective events! The accomplishments of our Learwood track team members are a testament to the guidance and encouragement of their coaches. Congratulations once again to Julia Scarvelli, Kaitlyn Warner, and John Donahue on their noteworthy achievements at the state track meet!
