News - Avon Lake City Schools Current and Extended Family Express Gratitude to Veterans

Published on

An expression of gratitude goes out to everyone in the Avon Lake City Schools family, current and extended, students and staff alike, who made Christmas cards for Veterans at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, for the holidays. Involved were many individuals, including Mark Brandt, who is a retired ALCS employee who has come back to help serve our district, a US Navy Veteran, and who was involved in the distribution of the handmade, homestyle cards. Also involved was Ms. Laura Rasch, who is a Nurse at the Louis Stokes VA Hospital at Wade Park in Cleveland, and former team member in our school district. So many cards were made to express gratitude for the service of our veterans, cards were distributed to individuals in Sandusky and Wade Park. Great job Avon Lake City Schools, and those who helped to make the holidays a bit brighter for everyone involved.
