News - Troy Supports Prayers From Maria Foundation

Published on

The Troy Intermediate School community came together on Friday, September 13th to enjoy a sweet treat while supporting a worthy cause. Maria’s Ice Cream Truck made a stop at the school during lunchtime and all classes had the opportunity to redeem their pre-purchased $3.00 tickets for tasty ice cream. All proceeds directly benefited Prayers From Maria Foundation to fund lifesaving childhood cancer research. Many classes created hand-made cards for children currently being treated for cancer and these will be delivered to area hospitals. Students at Troy Intermediate School are encouraged to wear yellow during the month of September in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness and to stand unified in a show of compassion and hope. The mission of Prayers From Maria Foundation is to provide courageous cancer patients with support and help fund relevant research initiatives to further progress for the future. The Troy Intermediate School community made a positive impact and an investment in future generations by funding lifesaving research. Thank you to the PTA volunteers and school administrators who organized this fun and meaningful event!
