News - The B.E.S.T (Building Excellent Schools Team)

Members of the B.E.S.T. (Building Excellent Schools Team) Committee presented two options to the Avon Lake City Schools Board of Education in June of 2018. The original proposal was for the changes of elementary building configuration to occur at the beginning of the 2019/2020 school year.

Recent discussions at this month’s City of Avon Lake Planning Commission Meeting, confirmed the continuing development of new subdivisions in our community in the near future.  As a result our Superintendent, Bob Scott, recommended at the October Board of Education Meeting to make no new changes to our elementary buildings/neighborhood lines at this time. Mr. Scott’s recommendation will allow our district to obtain more accurate information to help prevent a potentially short-sighted solution.
