ALCS Leaders Advocate at Ohio State House
Published on
Officials from the Avon Lake City Schools recently visited the Ohio State House in Columbus, Ohio, to engage in a kind and interactive conversation with local lawmakers who represent our constituency in the capital. During a recent cold temperature day when school was cancelled, ALCS team members Ned Lauver, Katrina Muzingo, and Maria Gingo comprised the delegation who was intent on sharing viewpoints on current student needs relative to the proposed budget bill. Legislation regarding the Fair School Funding Plan was part of the discussion, and a meaningful dialogue with Representative Joe Miller and State Senator Nathan Manning took place. In all, time spent with our local elected officials, exchanging perspectives on their actions that impact our district and others, proved to be a worthwhile endeavor. Thank you to our elected leaders for making the time to meet with our team.

Eastview Elementary, PTA Host Book Fair
Published on
As part of a twice-annual educational opportunity for students building-wide, Eastview Elementary School, led by its PTA, hosted its yearly book fair. Held once in the fall and once in the spring, the book fair is a way for each classroom to stop by the gymnasium and search books and other reading materials of their interest. Some books featured fictional and fantasy topics, while others were sports-related. All sales, proudly orchestrated by the kind volunteers of the PTA, help to fund their organization, which in-turn becomes re-invested back into their building and the students. Great job to the students, PTA, and leadership of Eastview for the efforts to equip and educate our students.
