Published on October 5, 2026

Congratulations goes out to senior Gabriella Avalos, who is 1 of only 2 students in all of Lorain County to be participating in the JVS’s Ohio Technical Center Plus program, empowering eligible Ohio seniors to complete career-tech courses, earn industry credentials, and gain real world experience. Gabby, as she is known by her friends, attends ALHS five days a week, and then additionally goes to the Lorain County JVS on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. to participate in the welding program. She also works part time at McDonald’s the rest of the week. Gabby will be graduating from Avon Lake High School a semester early and will at the same time be a fully credentialed welder. Great job to Gabby Avalos, and congratulations on being the first in your family to graduate, while shouldering extra meaningful roles and finding great success.
