Twenty-seven Avon Lake students were recognized through the College Board National Recognition Program for the 2025-26 school year, including a total of 13 current seniors and 14 current juniors. The College Board National Recognition Program awards academic distinction to high-performing students to highlight their achievement to institutions of higher learning while celebrating their success.
Students are eligible to claim an award based on their achievement on PSAT/NMSQT (10th or 11th grade), PSAT 10 (10th), or AP Exams (by the end of 10th). These awardees are among the highest achieving students in the district, placing in the top 10% of test takers. Students must also verify during their sophomore or junior year that they are among first-generation college students in their state, and/or among rural and small-town students in their state. Alternatively, they may earn a 3+ on two or more distinct AP Exams in the 8th, 9th, and/or 10th grade. They must also earn a cumulative GPA of B+ or higher (at least 3.3 or 87%-89%) by the time of submission. As a result of their hard work and excellent academic achievement, students may earn the School Recognition Award, the First-Generation granted Recognition Award, or the Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award. Twenty-seven of our own Avon Lake High School Students qualified for these awards!
Congratulations to these distinguished students on their outstanding accomplishments! The ALCS wishes them continued success in their future endeavors!
