News - Congratulations to Andrew Cline, National Merit Semifinalist

On behalf of everyone in the Avon Lake City Schools, congratulations to Andrew Cline, our High School's very own National Merit Semifinalist, who was recently announced as having earned this high achievement of academic excellence. Such recognition places Andrew among the top 1% of all individuals who took the PSAT/NMSQ test last year, equating to approximately 16,000 applicants out of a total of 1.3 million students who annually participate. Andrew will have the opportunity to advance to become a Finalist in the National Merit Scholarship program with continued application work, letters of recommendations, and excellence in performance on forthcoming exams. Finalists are announced early in 2026. Please join the Avon Lake City Schools in recognizing the accomplishment of Andrew Cline in being placed among the most academically talented students in the entire nation.
