News - Gifts Distributed to Learwood Students with Santa's Help

Published on

Students in 7th and 8th grade at Learwood had a special day on Thursday, December 19th, as the entire body was subject to being randomly selected to receive gifts purchased by staff members as an extra holiday treat. Santa Claus himself attended the fun and festive event, where select students' names were read over the announcements Thursday afternoon, and called to the office. Once there, the building leadership team, Superintendent Joelle M. Magyar, and Old Saint Nick distributed the presents. Among the decoratively wrapped gifts were clothing items and sweatshirts, candy, school supplies, makeup and mascara, games, gift cards to Amazon, Starbuck, Target, and more. The randomly selected students opened the presents in the main office, and then had the chance for pictures and interaction with Santa Claus. In all, nearly 100 gifts were purchased and distributed. Thanks to the Learwood staff for their generosity and for making our students' lives a tad more enlivened headed into the holiday break.
