Learwood News - Learwood Student Council Tailgate Raises Funds for SOUPer Bowl Food Drive

Learwood Middle School Student Council organized a spirited tailgate event as their first service project of the 2025-26 school year, integrating support for a local community organization while planning a fun event for fellow students. The festivities were held during 4^th and 5^th period on Friday, September 26^th. Participating students grabbed their lunches from their lockers and headed outside to join in tailgate activities and enjoy scrumptious snacks generously donated by Learwood parents and members of the Learwood PTA. To participate,7^th and 8^th grade  students pre-purchased $2 tickets which funded a direct donation to a local food pantry, Community Resource Services in support of this year’s SOUPer Bowl Food Drive. This is a friendly competition between the communities of Avon Lake and Avon to raise funds and non-perishable food donations for the community. The winner of the food drive competition will be announced at half time during the annual Avon vs. Avon Lake  Varsity football game and will be presented with the SOUPer Bowl Trophy. Special thank you to Ms. Adler and Ms. McCarty, our Student Council Advisors for their support and coordination of this fun and impactful event. Go Avon Lake!
