Content Overview: 7th Grade Computer Applications
This 9 week course is designed to introduce the students to several different computer applications that are commonly used in our business world today.  Students will learn the computer applications through a series of hands-on computer units.   Emphasis of the course will be on the completion of projects and activities taught within the class.  Students will be encouraged to use their creative talent when completing the activities.

Assessments: 

Formative and Summative assessments using daily lab work, and projects with rubrics.

 

Standards/Learning Goals

Each Quarter will contain the same Standards since this is a 9 week course.  The Computer Application units that the students will complete during 7th grade include:  Keyboarding, Microsoft Word & Desktop Publishing, Digital Citizenship, PhotoShop and Multimedia Presentations.

Nine Week Term

  • Students choose the appropriate platforms and tools for meeting the desired objectives of their creation or communication.

  • Students create original works or responsibly repurpose or remix digital resources into new creations.

  • Students publish or present content that customizes the message and medium for their intended audiences.

  • Students cultivate and manage their digital identity and reputation and are aware of the permanence of their actions in the digital world.

  • Students manage their personal data to maintain digital privacy and security and are aware of data-collection technology used to track their navigation online.

  • Students demonstrate an understanding of and respect for the rights and obligations of using and sharing intellectual property.
