Dear Redwood Families, We hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather! Things are looking very good for our events planned over the next couple of weeks! Reminders/Updates:
**In order to maintain consistency across the elementary schools, we will be having Kindergarten and 4th Grade activities stated above available to only students and staff. Thank you for your understanding. 4th Grade Families: You should have received information from your child's teacher regarding upcoming events. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions! Bike to School Week All Elementary Schools in Avon Lake will be promoting Bike to School Week from May 24th - May 28th for Kindergarten through 4th grade students! This is a fun initiative that the students and families love and can get involved in where students are encouraged to ride their bikes to school. There will be a designated parking area for the bikes around our bike area next to the flag pole. Staff members will be there to help place the bikes appropriately on the rack. Please review bike safety rules with your child and cooperate with the crossing guards when crossing the street. For our younger students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, we require an adult to ride to and from school with them. Redwood Celebration Week: We are excited to recognize two very special retirees with a special t-shirt week! Mrs. Schneider - School Librarian and Ms. Roberta - LEAPs Paraprofessional. Monday 5/24 - Wear a Word day (Wear your favorite shirt that has words on it) Tuesday 5/25 - Celebrate a Cause Day (wear a shirt or color that celebrates a cause. Ex. Red - Heart Assiciation, Blue - Autism Awareness, Purple - Cancer Awareness, etc.) Wednesday 5/26 - Hawaiian Day (wear a colorful or floral shirt) Thursday 5/27 - Sport/Team Jersey Day (Wear your favorite sports team shirt or jersey) Friday 5/28 - Activity Day (Wear comfy clothes or exercise clothes) School Supply Kits Great News! This year we will be offering the Teacher Tailored supply kit program which offers pre-packaged, school supply boxes filled with the exact items requested by your child’s teacher. Get your back-to-school shopping out of the way early and enjoy a summer day!
