News - Aubrey Kozar Continues to Shine!

Aubrey Kozar, our very own ALHS junior recently qualified for, and proudly represented Team USA at the Para Pan Pacific Championships in Walnut, California, held in late August. This was Aubrey’s first international championship meet, bringing together more than 170 swimmers ages 16–48 from 10 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, Peru, and more. The Para Pan Pacs was last held in the United States in 2014 and serves as an important staging event for the Paralympic Games. Aubrey had an impressive showing throughout the competition, advancing to the finals (top 24) each day in either individual events or as a member of Team USA relay teams. She competed on both the Medley Relay and 400m Freestyle Relay teams.
In her individual events, Aubrey achieved several personal milestones. She set a personal record (PR) in the 100m Freestyle while also reaching an Emerging Team time standard. In the 400m Freestyle, she advanced to the finals, finishing 23rd overall, while setting another personal record and reaching an additional Emerging Team time standard. Aubrey also competed in the 100m Backstroke, 50m Freestyle, and 100m Butterfly, advancing to the finals in both the 100m Backstroke, where she finished 21st overall, and the 100m Butterfly, where she finished 20th overall. Way to go, Aubrey!
