News - Avon Lake City Schools Begins 2026-2027 School Year

The 2026-2027 school year has officially kicked off in the Avon Lake City Schools, as students returned to the halls and classrooms of their buildings earlier this week. Tuesday, August 18th served as the district’s official first day of school, and at all grade levels, our community’s children returned to warm welcomes from our dedicated teachers and staff. Superintendent Joelle M. Magyar visited buildings throughout the district, said hello, and encouraged students and staff to have a great school year. Avon Lake City Schools encourages parents to get involved with a PTA at your child’s school, to play an even more active role in their educational experience. Thank you to the families of our students for making the start the 2026-2027 school year smooth and successful. All the best to our entire school family for a great school year.
