News - ALHS Students Demonstrate Outstanding Achievement on AP Exam Scores

Congratulations to Avon Lake High School for demonstrating outstanding achievement on the recently released scores for the Advanced Placement exams! In 2026, an impressive 90% of ALHS students taking Advanced Placement exams received a score of 3 or higher. AP Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5, with many U.S. colleges/universities granting credits and/or advanced placement for scores of 3 or above. Student achievement on AP exams at ALHS have steadily climbed in recent years, with the number of ALHS students earning an AP exam score of three or higher increasing  by 21% since 2022.

This noteworthy accomplishment is not only a testament to the hard work and academic achievement of ALHS students, but also reflects the care, dedication, and excellent instruction of Avon Lake teachers and staff to prepare them for success. The continued support and partnership of our families in helping students excel in the classroom is also recognized.
