Redwood students work together to build using plastic cups

Students at Redwood Elementary can collaborate and complete a variety of engaging, hands-on activities that encourage key skills through the Innovation class. Offered once per week under the direction of teacher Aidan Petz, the special class gives students in grades kindergarten through fourth grade a space designed to explore their creativity while sharpening their problem-solving skills. Each weekly project utilizes craft supplies such as tape, yarn, cardboard tubes, paper plates, egg cartons, or other recyclable materials for students to apply their imagination and work together as a team. Recent activities included designing and building roller coasters, participating in collaboration stations, constructing bridges, and completing team cup stacking challenges using a “claw arm.” Congratulations to our K-4 students on their tremendous work!
