News - ALCS Returns for the 2025-2026 School Year

First Day of School in the ALCS!

Tuesday, August 19th was the first day of school in the Avon Lake City Schools and throughout the campuses of our district, eager and excited students returned to staff with smiles on their faces and ready for a new school year! The High School kicked-off the day first thing  in the morning with our district’s oldest students, as staff and administrators greeted the 9^th, 10^th, 11^th, and 12^th graders.  Troy Intermediate and Learwood were underway next with a successful and positive start to the school year as well. Elementary students were escorted by bus, walking with their families, and accompanied by our dedicated crossing guards to ensure a safe return to the buildings. Staff members embraced our youngest students with themed buildings, fun activities planned, and more. Thank you to everyone including our families, staff members, students, our community stakeholders, safety forces, and more, who helped to ensure that the first day of the 2025-2026 school year was a home run! It’s a whole new ball game in the Avon Lake City Schools, so lace your shoes and let’s make this school our finest effort for student growth and achievement!
