News - Second Annual Career Quest Inspires Troy Intermediate Students

Troy Intermediate School students and guest presenters participated in the second annual Career Quest, an event that helps students explore occupational opportunities in a variety of industries and professions. A total of twenty-eight presenters, many of our own Avon Lake community members, shared their talent and insight with the students during the school day on March 6th. Eight different industries and career pathways were represented, including` Entrepreneurship & Business, Healthcare & Medical Field, Marketing & Advertising, Real Estate & Finance, Fashion & Interior Design, Psychology & Self-Care, Technology & AI, and Engineering & Truck Design. Before the students arrived, the presenters met with Superintendent Magyar and representatives from the Board of Education.
The program consisted of each presenter delivering three 30-minute presentations to groups of students that rotated through. Students were able to ask follow-up questions and found the overall experience to be informative, engaging, and inspiring in terms of their potential future plans. Several Troy students created Career Quest podcasts featuring presenters discussing their respective careers. A special thank you is extended to our Troy Student Ambassadors, STEM Teacher Mrs. Melott, and Troy staff for their support and coordination for this exciting event. Finally, thank you to our presenters for sharing their personal experiences and wealth of knowledge with our students and providing them with an unforgettable career exploration experience!
