The Avon Lake City Schools will have Issue 16 and Issue 17 on the May 6th ballot this spring. Issue 16 is a bond issue that requests $88,085,000 and would cost taxpayers approximately $96 per year for each $100,000 of county auditor appraised home value. Issue 17 will be the operating levy and would generate $3 million annually for 10 years and would cost taxpayers approximately $69 per year for each $100,000 of county auditor appraised home value. Issue 16 and Issue 17 Specific Information

The Lorain County Board of Elections has assigned issue numbers to the Avon Lake City Schools, and Issue 16 will be the bond issue to construct a new facility for Grades 5 through 8 at the Learwood location and repair existing elementary buildings, and the second being an operating levy for the purpose of general operating expenses. The bond issue requests $88,085,000 and would cost taxpayers approximately $96 per year for each $100,000 of county auditor appraised home value. Issue 17 will be the operating levy and would generate $3 million annually for 10 years and would cost taxpayers approximately $69 per year for each $100,000 of county auditor appraised home value. Combined, if passed, these two issues would cost Avon Lake taxpayers approximately $165 per year for each $100,000 of county auditor appraised home value.
