News - Avon Lake City Schools Welcomes Back Students

Avon Lake City Schools officially welcomed back students in grades 1st through 12th for the 2024-2025 school year on Tuesday, August 20th, and the excitement and anticipation leading up to this first day of school was shown throughout the district. The first students to arrive for the first full day of classes came at the High School and Troy Intermediate School. Learwood Middle School students entered the building with smiles and were greeted by staff members. Superintendent Joelle Magyar visited Avon Lake's Elementary Schools throughout the day to say hello and offer encouragement. Special thanks to Avon Lake's public safety team, who helped to ensure a smooth start on this first day of classes. PreK and Kindergarten students return to school on Thursday, August 22nd.
