SCIENCE • GRADE 1
Content Overview:
Students explain how plant and animal structures support survival, investigate light and sound as forms of information and energy, and use repeated observations to identify predictable patterns in the sky. The K–2 engineering design standards (K-2-ETS1-1 through K-2-ETS1-3) are addressed throughout the year as students identify simple problems, develop possible solutions using drawings or models, and test and compare solutions to determine what works best.
