The Avon Lake Instrumental Music Department will host the "Shoremen Brass Classic" on Friday, August 3rd at 7 PM in Avon Lake's Memorial Stadium. The show will feature eight of "Marching Music's Major League" in a heated competition as they head for their World Championships a few days later. The Avon Lake Symphonic Band is one of four bands from throughout the USA selected to perform at the 4th Annual Percy Grainger Wind Band Festival in Chicago’s prestigious Orchestra Hall at Symphony Center. The students will have an opportunity to rehearse and perform in this famous hall, home of the Chicago Symphony, and participate in a clinic with Colonel Arnald Gabriel, Conductor of the United States Air Force Band (retired).

Avon Lake High School will host their 48th Annual Band-A-Rama on Saturday, September 15th, 2012 at 7 PM at the Avon Lake Memorial Stadium. The 2012 Band-A-Rama includes: Westlake, Rocky River, Padua, Cuyahoga Falls, Open Door, Oberlin, Clearview, and our own Avon Lake Marching Shoremen.
