Historical Photographs Wanted!
Avon Lake Public Library, in partnership with the Avon Lake Historical Society, is looking for historical photographs to add to their collection and for use in a forthcoming book from Arcadia Publishing. The library is looking for pictures of people, buildings, places or events in Avon Lake from any time period, and to be useful the pictures should be original prints, postcards, line art or negatives. Photographs may be donated, or if you prefer the library will scan your picture and return it to you. Shore Log Staff and Advisors Win Best in Ohio Award
Congratulations to the 2007 Shore Log yearbook staff and advisors, Krystine Shea and Hilary Bickerton, for being named one of the best yearbooks in the state of Ohio! This honor was given by Josten's, and it was awarded to only ten schools in the state of Ohio. Job well done!
Avon Lake City School District Recognized for Excellent Financial Accountability
Auditor of State Mary Taylor's office presented Avon Lake City School District officials with the "Making Your Tax Dollars Count" award for their fiscal year 2006 and 2007 audits. Fewer than five percent of all Ohio government agencies are eligible for this award.
