This page lists your assignments for the Paris project.  This week we will be exploring Paris.  Then you will choose a particular arrondissement to research.  The Web sites will provide you with valuable information for each assignment.  Your powerpoint presentations are due in two weeks.

Day 1:  Les gares

In Chapter 8, we have been studying train travel in France.  Go to the following websites to learn about the train stations in Paris.  Click on each train station and find out more about it.  Be prepared to discuss your findings in class.  Challenge questions:  Which is the oldest train station in Paris?  In which train station can you eat in the “Blue Train”?

Day 2:  Les musées

If you can’t go to Paris you can still visit its museums on-line.

Go to the following websites.  Be prepared to discuss what you learned about each one and its collections.

You haven’t been in Paris until you’ve relaxed in a café.

·        Les Deux Magots is a very famous café where many famous writers have met for discussions.  Its website has phenomenal graphics.

In Paris, there are so many places to go and things to see.  These are just a few of the important attractions.

Day 5: Les arrondissements

Choose one of Paris’ arrondissement, and research what can be found there.  Are there any important monuments?  Is there a train station or a famous café?  Is there a museum?  Is there a park?  Is there anything else of interest?  These sites can get you started in your research.
